Ornithoblogical is an image blog created by award-winning, NYC-based, illustrator Anna Raff. Her work has appeared in books, newspapers, magazines, and on television, and has been recognized by The Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, and 3 x 3 among others. For ten years she was a book designer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Anna has a BA from Connecticut College, and a MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts. The brightness of your colors is lovely. What paints are you using?..Watercolors or gouaches watered down or those gouache inks?
ReplyDeleteHi Joan. Thanks! I use a bunch of different inks (Higgins, Sumi, walnut ink). Full disclosure: I tweaked this guy a bit after scanning him...he was originally more magenta/pink, but I've achieved this color with a combination of yellow and red Higgins.
